Background
The original painting "Space and Bliss Inseparable" is 70x70 cm (28" x 28" ) done with acrylic paint on a canvas. The painting was inspired by insights during meditation. Space as that which contains all things and not what separates them.
In meditation and in daily life, we can use this insight by not just directing our consciousness forward—habitually following our nose and eyes—but being aware of the space all around ourselves as well. Space is by nature rich and playful and expresses itself as love.
Only space is uncreated and exists through its own power, and so is the radiant and limitless space of our own Mind. Space and Bliss are understood as one. It is a constant state of freshness, an exciting here and now, and momentary insights appear in direct connection with the experience itself. This is true joy and the goal.
When we cannot separate one’s own wishes for lasting joy and happiness from the wishes of others, one is in the Absolute State. This feels exceedingly natural. Everything in life becomes a gift and one feels the need to share this richness with others. This is what Buddha wants to teach beings. With this artwork, I wanted to express the disconnectedness of space and bliss inseparable.
